Abstract

SMAS Darussalam Medan is a private high school located at Jl. Darussalam No.26, Sei Sikambing D, Kec. Medan Petisah, Kota Medan, North Sumatra 20119. The student attendance process is still carried out by recording attendance in an attendance book and compiling the attendance data, which has led to several issues, particularly in terms of monitoring attendance by parents. There are still some students who skip school. If parents/guardians want to obtain information about student attendance, they must come directly to the school and check the attendance book and search for attendance data one by one, which requires a lot of time, energy, and money. The purpose of this research is to develop an Android-based information system that can be used for student attendance using location-based services and mock location detection. This feature functions to obtain the student's current location when taking attendance and prevent students from cheating by using the Fake GPS (false location) application. The information system was built using the Kodular framework and Airtable database. The system development method used was the waterfall method. With this information system, it is hoped that parents/guardians can obtain accurate student attendance information via their Android smartphones.
