Perancangan UI/UX Aplikasi Nara Bakery Menggunakan Metode User-Centered Design (UCD)

Abstract

Advances in information technology are driving micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to adapt by implementing digital systems to improve the efficiency and accuracy of business management, but in practice, many MSMEs still conduct operational processes manually, leading to issues such as delayed reporting, transaction recording errors, and low management transparency including those experienced by Nara Bakery, where transaction recording, inventory reporting, and employee attendance tracking have not yet been digitally integrated. This research aims to design the User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) of the Nara Bakery mobile app centered on user needs to improve operational efficiency and data accuracy, with a design focused on integrating sales transaction recording, inventory reporting, and employee attendance into a single application system that is easy for business owners to use. The method used in this study is User-Centered Design, which consists of four stages: Understanding the context of use, Identifying user needs, Designing solutions, and Evaluating against requirements. Data collection was conducted through direct observation, semi-structured interviews, and a literature review, while the application prototype was designed using Figma software and evaluated through usability testing using the System Usability Scale (SUS) method, involving 10 respondents to measure ease of use and user satisfaction. The research results consist of a prototype design for the Nara Bakery mobile app, which features an intuitive interface, a clear user flow, and key features aligned with the business’s operational needs. The SUS testing yielded an average score of 89.5, falling into the “Excellent” category and Grade A, indicating that the UI/UX design has a very high level of usability and is well-received by users.
